I love it when someone sends me a new product to try and dinner “just happens” that night! This chicken recipe was such a simple and delicious dish, I had to share both the product and the story behind it.
Cristi’Ali Cuisine is a company founded in 2009 by Romanian native Alina Trandafir, who now lives in Dallas. Alina grew up working in her family’s concession stand in Europe and then later in the US, learning and honing the family recipes that were passed down from generation to generation. She’s bottled two of those amazing recipes into sauces and is sharing them with the world in both retail stores and at festivals.
I pretty much ripped into the Smoky Chipotle sauce straight away and started drinking it. After I got done licking it from my fingers, I deemed it hubs-worthy and got to work. Here’s how I recommend making dinner on the fly, and by on the fly I mean simple and fast with stuff from my pantry.
My 3 C’s Chipotle Chicken
- Chicken breasts
- Stacy’s Parmesan Garlic and Herb Pita Chips
- Christi’Ali Smoky Chipotle Sauce
Okay, I added extra garlic. But I ALWAYS add extra garlic. You don’t have to. Technically it’s a 3 ingredient with 1 optional ingredient chipotle chicken but that doesn’t have the same ring and garlic doesn’t start with “C.”
Take several handfuls of Stacy’s Pita Chips and throw them into a food processor until they are coarsely ground. I like them a little bulky, but not too chunky if you know what I mean. Depending on how much chicken you’re cooking, you may need to make more so keep the bag open for another round. There are only 3 of us so I didn’t use much of the bag — at least for the recipe… This also is a good opportunity to use the chips as a secondary sauce delivery system. It’s important to make sure the whole bottle is tasty for quality control. It would be irresponsible of me to recommend something I wasn’t fully familiar with. J
Put the ground pita chips into a bowl or plate large enough for your chicken breast to fit on.
Pour Christi’Ali Smoky Chipotle Sauce into a SEPARATE shallow bowl.
Lay a chicken breast in the sauce bowl and coat one side. Flip it over, coat the other side.
Now lay the chicken breast onto the pita chips so they’ll stick. Flip it over and cover the other side as well.
Cook chicken over medium heat, flipping midway through. I’m not going to tell you how long to cook your chicken because I always take the recommended amount of time and double it as I am salmonella averse. Yes, this makes for some rubbery chicken sometimes, but it keeps the you-know-what at bay.
When it’s done, pour a little of the sauce on top of your chicken breast and serve with a steam fresh bag of vegetables and voila! You have dinner! Fast – you have a FAST dinner! And it looks fancy like it took you a long time. Except it didn’t!
I wish I had a photo to show you but it was gone in a nano second. 🙁
I will say this, the sauce has the perfect amount of heat. The Princess Cupcake is NOT down with any spicy food and she still ate it. The hubs is the polar opposite and won’t eat anything if it doesn’t have the heat index of a ghost pepper and he really liked it. I don’t like chicken and even I thought it was really good. Plates were clean all around the table so that’s what we call, “winner winner chicken dinner” in our house!
Try the Smoky Chipotle Sauce on a steak salad, pork, baked potatoes… Now I’m hungry!
I was provided a sample kit of the Cristi’Ali sauces for this post. All opinions are my own.
