Grilled Pizza – Papa Murphy’s Style

We watch a lot of food network. Not that we’re foodies. Maybe foodie-wanna be’s.

Time is the biggest issue – with two adults working full-time and a four year-old in multiple sports, how on earth does one find the time to play around in the kitchen to make gourmet meals? I’m lucky if I remember to grab pre-packaged breakfast for myself in the morning let alone create a meal requiring step-by-step recipe instructions.

Aside from employing a full-time domestic helper, it’s not gonna happen in this current state of normal.

But what we can do to feel all fancy and gourmet-like is cheat a little.

Like special ordering a fresh take and bake pizza from Papa Murhpy’s and grilling it at home.

You heard me. “Grilling it.”

You don’t need no stinkin’ pizza stone and hoytie-toytie wood fired brick oven to get a swanky grilled pizza for dinner in your own home.

And the best part? The hubs does the grilling part.

Outside.

While you have a glass of wine in the kitchen.

Alone.

Because the mini-me is very curious about putting pizza on the grill. And the puggies, well, they go where the food is.

This is my favorite weeknight dinner ever. It’s all fresh ingredients – they make their own dough…. All I had to do was pick it up. Even the Princess Cupcake made her own Papa Murphy’s Mini Murph. All that was required of me was to wipe up the extra sauce she left on the counter, get out some plates and put my feet up.

Tell me how it can get better than that?

Here’s how we do food network night at our house.  The secret homemade Papa Murphy’s recipe from the award-winning grill chef at Chez Perot (yes, that’s my hubs who won!) that will allow you too to have a glass of wine, in your kitchen, by yourself. Ahhhhhhhhhh…..

Pick up the phone and call your local Papa Murphy’s (store locator here) and ask for the “Hammond Special” which is a Papa Murphy’s thin crust deLITE®, with:

  • herb & cheese blend
  • feta cheese
  • garlic
  • mixed onions
  • black olives
  • Canadian bacon
  • sundried tomato

Yep, we didn’t like it at all.

With the Mini-Murph, my total bill was only $16. (Prices may vary per location)

You know you wanna outsource the cooking to the hubs for an evening so here’s your link to your grilling instructions.

And if you need a grill upgrade, you still have two days left to enter the Papa Murphy’s contest to win a Weber Grill, grill cover, pizza stone and griddle system, as well as a $100 Papa Murphy’s gift card. Just “like” Papa Murphy’s on Facebook here.

You can thank me later.

I was compensated with a pizza gift card from Papa Murphy’s for this post. Thank goodness they sent it to me because we had never grilled pizza outside before, and now we might never bring it back into our oven again! It’s super easy. Please try this at home.
