Jan 24th is National Compliment Day

Pause. Breathe. Love.

January 24th is National Compliments Day. What a great day to tee up your good vibes. Maybe you could compliment everyone you talk with? Maybe do something nice for a stranger? Or something even bigger for someone who means the world to you?

For example, I – in honor of National Complements Day – sent a gorgeous Vera Wang bouquet from FTD to my blogging bestie.

I’m going to wager a bet she has zero idea how much she means to me because I haven’t ever told her how awesome she is, I barely ever see her, and she likely doesn’t know that she inspires me to be a better blogger I’m sure she doesn’t realize that she’s a really big deal – at least to me anyway. 😉 We may not grab coffees and talk shop all the time, but she’s the one who always answers my instant messages when I have an off the wall question about influencer groups or third-party apps. She’s the one who I always look for at media events, and she cracks me up whenever I’m around her. Which… is why I’m always looking for her.

Wondering who it is? Check out the very pregnant Betsy Segars of Dallas Socials and Lip Gloss and High Heels. Because she is the bombdiggity and 8ish weeks away from becoming a mommy, I thought she might like something that didn’t have tiny monkeys on it, wasn’t made from cuddle fabrics, or was predominantly made in a light shade of blue. This is all for her, a gorgeous Vera Wang Paradise Fashion Bouquet with fuchsia Mokara Orchids and orange roses in a asymmetrical pillow vase.

I partnered with Gifts.com to help promote a little kindness, and because I did, they sent me a bouquet as well. See how this “nice thing” works?

Let me tell you how cool this service is though.

So I was actually OUT OF TOWN when the bouquet arrived via UPS. I told the hubs before I left that I was expecting flowers and even though the box is branded FTD all over it, it sat – in our hallway – until I returned. Not even kidding. He brought it inside, but didn’t occur to him that it maybe should be opened. (Insert eye roll here.)

I was heartbroken when I got back, thinking that they would be dead like black roses from the mob.

Holy cow – it was NOT a dead bouquet! The flowers were expertly packed so they did not slide in the box, and there were tiny water vessels on the orchids to prevent them from wilting.

The roses didn’t have any tubes attached, so I assumed they would be toast by the next day. I put them in water with the flower food

and the buds opened overnight and I have this radiant flower display. 5 days later and it’s still going strong!

When I see this gorgeousness on my counter, it reminds me that despite what I see on the news and all over my social media feeds, there is beauty and kindness in the world. I also love knowing that I brightened Betsy’s day as well, with the same stunning display on her countertop all the way across the metroplex.

Thanks Betsy, for being my blogger inspiration and resource. You really are a bestie in my book!

Thank you to FTD for joining forces to get the word out about National Complements Day! All opinion are my own.
