Toilet Paper Roll Angel

The homework assignment was: Use a toilet paper roll to create a member for the class nativity project. Our assigned piece was an angel.

And so this is our masterpiece.

Trust me, the Princess Cupcake had a hand in every design aspect of it. If it were my angel, it would look a bit different… but that’s okay. Letting them be creative and make their own projects is important. And the pride she had carrying it into her classroom today was heart-melting. (She rode to school with it like this)

Her teacher saw it and summed it up perfectly, “It will GLOW with Glory!”

The Princess was trying to come up with a name for her angel – and I think that’s it. We’ll call her “Glory.”

Here’s our supply list for Glory, the toilet paper roll angel:

Toilet paper roll (provided)
Styrofoam ball for the head (purchased from JoAnn)
Left over silver fabric from the Super Martian Robot Girl costume
Doll hair (purchased from JoAnn)
Heart rhinestone (found in her art supply bin)
Foam board (found in the garage)
Glitter paper (one should always have glitter paper on hand)
Martha Stewart glitter glue (left over from Halloween last year and used frequently since)
Martha Stewart silver glitter (left over from Christmas ornaments)
Colored fuzzy pom-poms (found in her art supply bin)
Coffee filter (abandon since the arrival of the Keurig)
Battery operated string of 18 multicolor LED lights (purchased from Target)
Markers
Hot glue (I did all the hot gluing)

Here are some adorable nativity scene members that Cupcake’s friends made.

Wise man (how cute is he in the background?!)
