Bounty and NFL Play 60 Character Camp

How about those Cowboys? I have been laughing at all the memes over the past couple of weeks as “America’s Team” continues it’s seemingly unbelievable division domination and then destruction. I could probably make a few with the inspiration from these awesome towels that Bounty sent me. I mean, who knew Bounty had NFL licensed products?!

Cowboys wipe up the Seahawks 30 -23.

Giants got cleaned by the Cowboys 31-21.

Cowboys rolled the Saints 38 – 17.

Titans defense got soaked up by the ‘Boys 26-10.

And my favorite:

Cowboys absorbed the Rams defense 34-31.

But, the wins don’t always come easy and the Cowboys are in a bit of a pickle now that Romo is injured. Alas, the season will go on with all it’s fumbles and fun. For most women, football is about the sportsmanship, the food and the festivities as much as it is the game. And that’s why Bounty goes for the long pass with their partnership with the NFL.

My +1 for many blogging events, Sabrina, and her son filled in for me at a recent Bounty sponsored NFL PLAY 60 Character Camp. It sounds like they scrubbed up on fun and learning, what do you think?

Her son got to be one of 200 local DFW area children who attended the NFL PLAY 60 Character Camp on the amazing Dallas Cowboys Field at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, which was a treat in and of itself.

The camp, hosted by Bounty and the Muñoz Agency, was created not only to encourage kids to be active for 60 minutes a day…but to teach them qualities and values that will improve how they play and live their lives. Some of the values the kids learned were to be grateful, loyal, responsible, and truthful and have integrity and self-control. While she says she’s not sure her little baller absorbed all of these things from one camp…it was a great reminder for her to keep instilling the importance of all these qualities in him daily.

With the help of Hall of Fame offensive tackle Anthony Muñoz and his team, the kids (ages 7-13) were taught basic football skills using fun drills, warm up exercises, and games. Sabrina and her mini +1 both learned was that while 60 minutes sounds like a long time to exercise daily, it goes by very quickly when you are having fun and learning new things. Also, playing 60 minutes a day can easily be done with not only playing football with friends, but riding a bike or taking a walk with your family. There is so much we can do to be active and have fun and it all counts to better fitness.

The kids also learned the importance of healthy nutrition. Thanks to the great team of folks from Bounty, including Chef Jeremy Davis, Anthony Muñoz, and some lucky children, they hosted a cooking demonstration showing everyone how easy and quick it can be to cook healthy, delicious food. To prove it, they served everyone lunch to show them how good it was. Even “little baller,” probably the pickiest eater on the planet, loved it. And, using Bounty’s new NFL prints paper towels, they showed the kids how easy it is to clean up afterwards!

Thank you NFL Play 60 for everything you do for our children. And thank you Bounty for inviting us to attend. Not only did these kids have an experience of a lifetime while learning the importance of daily exercise, they also learned what it means to have good character in both athletics and life.

Oh yeah, and the football swag wasn’t bad either. 🙂

You can find the new NFL printed Bounty towels at Walmart. They’re the one sheet that can tackle big fumbles!
